April 2005 Meeting Information

April 12, 2005
Using Java Messaging in Real-Time Trading Systems

Yakov Fain will be making a presentation on the Java Message Service (JMS). Any modern financial trading system is a complex distributed application that runs on multiple platforms and consists of components and services that have to communicate with each other. This presentation is about using JMS and Message-Oriented Middleware as a backbone that provides a fast and reliable delivery mechanism between various components and tiers of such systems.

This presentation is based on Yakov's real-world experience in design, development, and production support of an application that had to wire together midrange computers with J2EE and LDAP servers, non-Java stock exchange software, and mainframe legacy reporting systems. Yakov Fain has been running Smart Data Processing, Inc. since 1996.

Meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month at the Scotch Plains Rescue Squad second floor meeting hall starting promptly at 7:30pm. Meetings are open to the public, and visitors are encouraged to join ACGNJ.
