November 2007 Meeting Information

November 13, 2007
Technical Overview of Maven 2

Paul Shemansky will be providing a technical overview of Maven 2, a software project management and comprehension tool. Based on the concept of a project object model (POM), Maven can manage a project's build, reporting and documentation from a central piece of information.

Paul Shemansky has been a Java developer since 2002. With no formal college education, most of his experience comes from designing web sites and developing web-based applications since the age of fourteen. With a high level of self-motivation, he has held technical positions in retail, e-commerce, wholesale & distribution industries, and state & federal government institutions. Although Paul has acquired a broad range of knowledge by utilizing high-end commercial products from Sun, IBM, and Oracle, he prefers to deploy secure and scalable systems and applications which incorporate highly-customized, open-source software alternatives. Paul Shemansky
Over the past few years, Paul's primary focus has been to deliver Internet-based software solutions which automate back-office processes and provide immediate returns on investments. He currently works as a lead software engineer for ESP, Inc., which is a globally-present, technical solutions provider for small and medium-sized businesses and several Department of Defense agencies. In his spare time, he has taken an interest in contributing documentation, bug fixes, and new features to a handful of open source Java projects, including Apache Tomcat and Apache Maven 2.
For further information or technical consulting, Paul may be reached at paul.shemansky@gmail.com.

Meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month at the Scotch Plains Rescue Squad second floor meeting hall starting promptly at 7:30pm. Meetings are open to the public, and visitors are encouraged to join ACGNJ.
